"We rescued our 3 year old Luna from a shelter knowing she had been there more than once. It was apparent to us that she had very little training. Luna got along with people just fine, but we quickly found out that she was not getting along with other dogs. Luna was barking, growling, and lunging at every dog she encountered. Taking Luna for walks or to the parks quickly started to become a nightmare. From day one with Mark we became aware that it wasn't only Luna that would need to be trained. If Luna was going to change her behavior we needed to change our behavior as well. Mark was 100% successful in making this happen for all of us. Sure, anyone can look in a book or go on the Internet to find information, but honestly that's just not the same as spending time with a professional dog trainer. Mark carefully monitored our progress and was able to notice changes we were not aware of. Mark did not overwhelm us with hundreds of things to remember. Our training with Mark was fun and memorable! Both Luna's and our own confidence levels have changed dramatically! Taking Luna for walks and to the parks is now an absolute joy for all of us!"
Thank you so much Mark!

"My name is PIXIE I am a five year old poodle, trained by Mark. With the encouragement from Mark, I have become a therapy dog and have just competed 50 visits. Mark has taken me from just a little Poodle to a well trained dog that travels on planes and is welcomed at hospitals, schools and Give Kids the World. When my mom is invited places I am also invited, because I am a well trained Poodle thanks to Mark."

"Mark came to our house and sat down with us and our dog Buddy. He listened to our goals and objectives and designed a personalized training routine. Mark, by far, is the best trainer we've ever had. We can't think hime enough and Buddy loves him"

"I adopted Maggie and quickly realized we had to start training. She had so much energy that I felt she needed a job. We went through Therapy Dog training with Mark. There were often times when I was not sure Maggie would be a good Therapy Dog candidate, but with Mark's patience and our perseverance we passed all tests and Maggie was certified and has been volunteering as a Therapy Dog ever since. Mark is very knowledgeable and has extensive dog training experience. He is always willing to discuss how to address the problem behaviors. I would highly recommend enrolling in training with him."

"My name is Tabatha. My husband, Doug and I got an American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) when he was 9 weeks old. His name is Echo. We decided the day we got him to make him a Therapy Dog! We made this decision because APBT get such a bad shake in the media. It is not the breed of animal, it is how they are raised and treated.
We started training at a local pet store and he did great. Within a few months he got his CGC then on to Therapy Dog training with Mark. Mark came highly recommended from obedience trainers that we knew. I spoke with him and from our conversation, knew that he would help us accomplish our goal of making Echo a therapy dog! He was thorough and helpful at all times and every step of the way helped us and Echo, achieve confidence that we could do it! I remember when he said to us, "just because you want Echo to be a therapy dog doesn't necessarily mean he wants to be!" I knew as soon as he saw how much Echo loved people he would realize he was born for this! We are so pleased that we both were able to test with Echo and becomes "handlers". I do not believe we could have succeeded without Mark's experience and his "knack" for understanding how dogs think. He always had a positive suggestion on how to better help us and Echo. Echo is now a licensed Therapy Dog International ambassador and an ambassador of Pit Bulls everywhere!" Thanks So Much Mark!

"Cassious is a 9 year old Boxer I'm fostering for Florida Boxer Rescue. When I brought him home, it was obvious he had issues - he was enormously difficult to control around other dogs, dragged me on the leash and other issues. I went to PetSmart and registered for the training they offer. I was lucky to meet Mark and learned some methods the first time. Cassious needed more, so I engaged Mark for private training.
Mark has been a lifesaver for my first experience with a large dog coming from an abusive situation. He is unfailingly patient with both Cassious and with me! He explains the reason behind the training and the behaviors. Mark is extremely flexible with scheduling and provides such positive reinforcement that Cassious and I truly enjoy our sessions. Cassious now knows 11 behaviors, is much more manageable on leash and I have received compliments from neighbors who notice that he has improved greatly since he came to me.
I highly recommend Greathouse training to help you and your pet have a more balanced and rewarding relationship"

"Kudos to Mark Greathouse for an outstanding job on training our Lakeland Terrier puppy, Max. Patience, kindness and consistency were Mark's talents while teaching Max. He trained our family as well to know how to continue Max's teachable moments and what a success! We have the dog we always wanted for our son; loving, kind, friendly, obedient and playful! We can't thank you enough,
Mark! You are the "Dog Whisperer" in our home! "

"We have always been fortunate enough to have multiple dogs at one time. After one of our beloved dogs passed from cancer, we were left with our Australian Cattle Dog, Trouble, who we had rescued several years earlier, and that was routinely aggressive towards other dogs, even within the family. In addition, being a working dog, she was prone to self-destructive behavior when bored, which was frequently manifested by chewing raw spots on her front leg. Finally the time came when we our hearts healed a bit and were ready for a new puppy to love. We found our new bundle of joy, Freckles.
After we brought Freckles home there was quite a bit of tension within our house as we were fearful that Trouble would harm her. During this time we consulted several different trainers and behaviorists who told us that it would cost several thousand of dollars to try to correct Trouble's aggressive tendencies and at that, there was slim chance that any change would occur. Desperation was setting in as we felt hopeless, and the tension was mounting daily to make sure Freckles would be safe from harm. It was by chance we met Mark Greathouse, who was confident that he could help the situation and was shocked at the responses we had received earlier. He arrived at our house and within the hour had Freckles and Trouble walking around the house together, and us completely at ease with the situation. We were amazed!
Over the course of our training sessions and with much patience, Mark taught us why Trouble acted the way she does and that everything we were experiencing wasn't with intent to harm our little puppy. He also counseled us that she reacts based on our emotions and actions. Through the knowledge of people as well as animals Mark imparted on us, we felt more at ease and could finally be completely happy within our new family. We were so impressed with Mark's knowledge, skill and the way Trouble responded to him we decided it would be fun for her to learn some tricks. We also wanted to have Freckles trained in obedience and socialization, as we did not want to have the same issues we had with Trouble. During the training sessions, Mark took the time to explain to us the thought process behind how each trick works, so that we came away with a better understanding of our dog's thought process and why the trick works. After a year of training, Trouble has learned approximately 40 tricks and commands, including agility exercises, which keep her happy and well mannered. She now enjoys going different places and showing off for anyone who will watch. People love it!
Under Mark's training and guidance, Freckles has also grown into a well-adjusted young dog and now enjoys playing with her new little sister, Beans, who we decided to add to the family. This is all thanks to the guidance and the confidence Mark has given us.
We owe the fact we have our happy family to Mark, and highly recommend him for any level of training. We fully intend on having Mark train any and all of the dogs that we are lucky enough to have pass through our lives."
